Virtual Networking Management White Paper

Virtual networking enables connectivity between the virtual computer systems that are networked together. Virtual computer systems connect to each other and to the network using virtual Ethernet ports and virtual Ethernet switches. The complexity and cost of managing virtual networking components can be reduced by developing standards for virtual networking management. DMTF has developed a set of standards for the management of virtual networking components. These standards complement the DMTF standards developed for the management of physical and virtual computer systems.
