The Aruba CX 10000 Distributed Services Switch with embedded AMD Pensando DPUs offers organizations an option to implement effective network segmentation by applying stateful firewall inspection policies at the switch port level, without having to route traffic to an external firewall for inspection. The Aruba CX 10000 is designed for securing East-West traffic and providing effective isolation for individual hosts or groups of hosts in the same rack even when those hosts are in the same L2 broadcast domain. This capability can be leveraged for minimizing the scope of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance as well as for meeting multiple PCI DSS requirements. The ability to implement segmentation at the port or host level ultimately reduces the cost and operational burden required to achieve and maintain PCI compliance, as well as validate compliance annually

The emergence of multi-Gigabit Ethernet allows data centers to adapt to the increasing bandwidth requirements of enterprise IT. To take full advantage of this network capacity, data center managers must consider the impact of hightraffic volume on server resources. A compelling way of efficiently translating high bandwidth into increased throughput and enhanced quality of service is to take advantage of Intel® I/O Acceleration Technology (Intel® I/OAT), now available in the new Dual-Core and Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processor-based server platforms. Intel I/OAT moves data more efficiently through these servers for fast, scalable, and reliable networking.

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (NTT) launched the world’s first mobile communication service using a cellular system on December 3, 1979. Since then, the radio access technology for mobile communications has evolved into a new generation system every 10 years. Along with technological development, services have also made progress. In the years from the first generation (1G) to the second generation (2G), the services were mainly voice calls, but finally advanced to simple text messaging.

The world is becoming increasingly connected with advancements in wireless technology. Now in its fifth generation, 5G brings unprecedented speed, reliability, and responsiveness. As 5G wireless technology is further developed and brought to mainstream markets, it will catalyze a paradigm shift for how we connect with our devices, information, and one another. Verizon partnered with Gensler to explore how 5G will transform the way people work. We started by evaluating the critical capabilities and limitations of 5G. An analysis of 5G disruptions in tangential industries yielded five key emerging trends. Finally, by applying these trends to the workplace, we distilled specific implications that are most likely to shape the future of work.

The private 5G market is at an early stage of development, but activity in the market is increasing. 5G accounted for over 50% of all publicly disclosed private network announcements at the end of 2022, according to Analysys Mason’s Private LTE/5G networks tracker.1 5G’s share is lower when non-public announcements are included, but it is expected that most private networks will eventually use 5G.
