Internal Segmentation Firewall

Area 51 is one of the most secure facilities in the world. While it has acres of land surrounding the base, a perimeter fence, keycard, door locks, biometric scanners, and multiple alarms—none of these features individually keeps Area 51 safe. Each one is a strand that helps to weave an exceptionally strong web of security for protection inside and out. Enterprise networks can benefit from the same kind of security philosophy. While an edge firewall can do an excellent job of protecting the network perimeter, it can’t help with attacks on the inside, after a breach occurs.

SD-WAN for Healthcare

whitePaper | February 21, 2023

The pandemic crisis has highlighted the need to transform healthcare, reduce inequalities in access to medical care, and provide a more personalized and humane experience. Patients and caregivers have recognized the convenience and effectiveness of telehealth during the crisis. In addition, the health sector is accelerating the digitalization of its services and transforming its hospitals into smart hospitals. Medical records are now stored electronically, and the sector is using an increasing number of IoT devices, which are inherently unsecure. However, this transformation exposes healthcare providers to significant data breaches and growing cybersecurity risks while they must demonstrate compliance to standards that protect sensitive health information such as HIPAA

5G spectrum for local industrial networks

whitePaper | May 6, 2021

Many industries are looking at 5G as the backbone of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It is a golden opportunity for communications service providers (CSPs) to create and capture new market spaces by driving innovation, efficiency, and growth across various industries. A key factor influencing the uptake of wireless solutions is the question of how to handle spectrum for industrial purposes, since reliable connectivity demands licensed spectrum. Some countries provide spectrum dedicated for industrial use, whereas others do not. The intention of this paper is not to discuss the pros and cons of such spectrum strategies, but rather to focus on industries with local radio coverage needs. It tries to show that whether licensed spectrum is set aside for industries or not, CSPs are in the prime position to optimally address these industrial connectivity needs with powerful 5G networks and business models focused on industries. For regulators intending to implement licensed spectrum dedicated to industrial use, this paper aims to describe how this should best be done using simple principles and the well-defined legislation already available in most countries across the world. Many industries are looking at 5G as the backbone of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
