5G Security: Forward Thinking Huawei White Paper

May 31, 2019

As vertical industries are thriving —Vehicle Network, Internet of Things (IoT), AR/VR, and high speed railways, just to name a few — they all demand fast yet ubiquitous network access to gain a new momentum. The rise of new business, new architecture, and new technologies in 5G will present new challenges to security and privacy protection. In 5G business environment, security is a necessary enabler for continuity of the business. Users already realize that security and privacy are important, and they could be aware of the security/privacy service provided to them. It is believed that the extent and strength of the security mechanisms provided correlate with the perceived security level, at least in the long run. Perception is closely related to trust, hence negative changes may happen very quickly (e.g. because of front-page news about observed attacks).

Lumina Networks

We believe the future is open software networks that give service providers control over how they implement their ideas and priorities for change. We believe our job is to be the catalyst to bring open software networking out of the lab and into their live network. We started Lumina Networks to ensure that providers can use open source in critical use cases, not just experimental ones. Yet, delivering technology by itself is not enough. Our customers are learning and doing with us, so they acquire the skills, practices and tools needed to develop and manage the platforms we jointly deploy.

Why 5G is Important for Enterprises

whitePaper | January 18, 2020

5G is an emerging technology that transforms underlying architecture in core networks and promotes virtualization, AI and automation. It changes the possibilities of networks, applications and underlying IT systems. It introduces new technologies such as edge compute and network slicing to enable the introduction and ubiquity of immersive solutions. These solutions are what will provide the tools for organizations – IT departments and lines of business – to transform digitally and create new business outcomes that have traditionally not been associated with IT.

Secure Transformation: Replacing Remote Access VPN with Prisma Access

whitePaper | September 27, 2022

Remote access VPN has been an enterprise network staple for years, and for many people, the phrases “remote access” and “VPN” are synonymous. However, enterprises are rapidly adopting cloud applications that are changing the requirements for security and networking. Network and security teams are asking about how to secure access to all applications not just those in the data center.

Deepwave Digital Creates an AI Enabled GPUReceiver for a Critical 5G Sensor

whitePaper | February 10, 2020

Deepwave Digital has leveraged the Artificial Intelligence Radio Transceiver (AIR-T) to create the first deep learning sensor for a 5G network. This network, the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS), will be the first spectrum sharing service provided by the telecommunications industry that leverages real time RF sensing. Critical to the operation of CBRS is the ability to determine if priority users are active on specific frequency channels. When no priority users are present, the spectrum may be reallocated for commercial networks to provide new enterprise services or additional bandwidth to existing services.

How To Achieve Secured Wired and Wireless Networks

whitePaper | May 1, 2022

The access layer offers the broadest attack surface in an enterprise’s network. It supports all network connectivity (via both wired Ethernet switches and wireless access points) for employees, contractors, and guests—as well as Internet-ofThings (IoT) devices. With ever-increasing numbers of devices connecting to networks each day, ensuring access layer security becomes a critical need. And with remote working becoming a new standard during the COVID-19 pandemic (and even beyond), proper security to mitigate access layer attacks has never been more important.
