Consumer products that connect into an organization’s enterprise network could be used by an attacker as an initial foothold to access critical company assets. Mandiant’s robust IOT methodology tests all inputs into those consumer devices to see where security vulnerabilities may exist. Manufacturers don’t often incorporate this testing into their processes, therefore it’s important for organizations to take action.
