Network Security for the Cloud Generation— A Comprehensive Defensein-Depth Approach

October 31, 2017

Organizations once needed only a single on-premises security stack that protected endpoints in a single office. Those days are long gone. The new normal for the Cloud Generation is a threat landscape shaped by complex factors and demands: Data, devices, applications are no longer confined to the traditional perimeter. They exist on-premises, in the cloud, in a hybrid state, and outside corporate control. This is illustrated by the wide adoption of public and private clouds and an ever-increasing number of sanctioned and unsanctioned cloud applications and unmanaged devices.

Service Provider Outlook

whitePaper | July 20, 2021

In 2Q21, Heavy Reading surveyed 86 communications service providers (CSPs) across global regions on their plans for customer premises equipment overall and universal CPE (uCPE) specifically. This report presents the highlights of that survey. Omdia’s uCPE Tracker – 1H21 Annual Forecast report projects that the worldwide uCPE hardware market will grow from $52.5m in 2020 to $2.3bn in 2025—an impressive CAGR of 113% over five years. With this in mind, Heavy Reading expected to see good support for uCPE from survey respondents, and we were not disappointed. We targeted the survey at CSPs planning to implement uCPE within, at most, 24 months. Nevertheless, the respondent pool showed a more lively than anticipated adoption of uCPE. 59% of US, 61% of Asia Pacific (APAC), and 39% of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) respondents have already deployed uCPE.

Streamline PCI Compliance with the Aruba CX10000 Distributed Services Switch

whitePaper | February 28, 2023

The Aruba CX 10000 Distributed Services Switch with embedded AMD Pensando DPUs offers organizations an option to implement effective network segmentation by applying stateful firewall inspection policies at the switch port level, without having to route traffic to an external firewall for inspection. The Aruba CX 10000 is designed for securing East-West traffic and providing effective isolation for individual hosts or groups of hosts in the same rack even when those hosts are in the same L2 broadcast domain. This capability can be leveraged for minimizing the scope of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance as well as for meeting multiple PCI DSS requirements. The ability to implement segmentation at the port or host level ultimately reduces the cost and operational burden required to achieve and maintain PCI compliance, as well as validate compliance annually
