The FireEye Approach to Effective Cloud Security

October 1, 2018

The public cloud addresses many historical security operations pain points, but it also introduces new ones that require security practitioners to adapt. In addition to meeting previous security challenges – out-of-date software, proper firewall configuration, proper authorization policies and procedures – the public cloud adds the additional tasks of tracking ephemeral assets, managing decentralized accounts (so-called “shadow IT”), protecting data stored using cloud provider platform services instead of servers, and verifying that all platform activity is tracked and authorized.

5G Security and Privacy for Smart Cities

whitePaper | November 10, 2019

Wireless telecommunications technology has undergone a tremendous evolution in the last few decades, from making simple phone calls (1G) and sending text messages (2G), to connecting to highspeed internet (3G) and providing multimedia and entertainment services (4G). Futuristic technologies such as remote robotics and virtual reality are emerging quickly and are likely to see mass adoption, while 4G cellular networks have reached capacity limits and are incapable of supporting the uninterrupted operations of these services. It is estimated that data will reach 175 zettabytes worldwide by 2025, up from 1.2 zettabytes in 2010, when 4G was first being deployed globally. 5G therefore provides a much-needed mobile bandwidth infrastructure for a world of connected objects and smarter cities.

Versa SD-WAN Solution Use Case for Satellite ISPs

whitePaper | July 5, 2022

Satellite networks offer their customers several advantages over other types of connectivity. They are easily deployed, reliable, and allow a wide degree of mobility, making them a perfect fit for Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP). They are an essential asset in places where other connectivity methods are not available, such as oil rigs, vessels, or even planes. However, they have several characteristics that make them harder to manage when compared to other kinds of networks. This document will discuss those challenges and explore how the Versa Operating System (VOS™) can help you extract better performance out of your Satellite links.
