Vapor IO will Enable 5G Services on Shared Infrastructure by using Google Anthos and the Kinetic Grid

Vapor IO, the Kinetic Grid Platform developers and the fastest growing company for intelligent edge-to-edge colocation, exchange, and networking services, announced today that it is integrating with Google Cloud's network, as well as the networks of its partners, and Anthos. As a member of Google Cloud's edge and iSV ecosystems, Vapor IO brings the advantages of Google Cloud to the telco edge via its software-driven, intelligent, and automated infrastructure solution, which is mainly intended to reduce the cost and complexity of edge-to-edge applications. In addition, customers can now install Google Cloud's Anthos on the Kinetic Grid platform with multi-sourced servers due to a collaboration between Google Cloud and Vapor IO. This extends the power and simplicity of Kubernetes and Google Cloud to the edge and provides communications service providers with intelligent, autonomous infrastructure.

On the Kinetic Grid, Google Anthos

Google Anthos allows administrators to operate Kubernetes clusters everywhere, including various clouds, virtualized infrastructure, and bare metal. In addition, because Vapor IO's Kinetic Grid platform is a neutral-host infrastructure, service providers may install Anthos on their private servers and servers owned by public clouds or bare metal providers. The economic advantages of shared infrastructure are combined with the microsecond latencies needed by 5G radio access networks on the Kinetic Grid platform.

Operators may receive a consistent managed Kubernetes experience across all of their environments by using Google Anthos and the option of using their servers or servers supplied by third parties such as Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services.

We Need an Edge-to-Edge Internet Platform

The Kinetic Grid technology, which is tightly integrated with public and private first and last-mile networks, enables software-driven, real-time applications that operate across locally distributed sites and can sustain sub-100 microsecond latencies needed by 5G RAN and other services. The Kinetic Grid, which was designed as a platform for constructing public and private 5G networks, also enables cloud providers, CDNs, IoT and immersive entertainment, and Industry 4.0 applications via shared infrastructure.

The Kinetic Grid, which is based on Vapor IO's award-winning Kinetic Edge design and is now being implemented in 36 U.S. cities, integrates software-driven networking, colocation, interconnection, and intelligence into a complete, carrier-neutral platform. Customers can certify once and deploy everywhere because of its platform-level integration. No other platform provides edge-to-edge consistency and service pre-integration across different markets.

First Deployment in Las Vegas

Vapor IO has announced plans and collaborations to provide Kinetic Grid infrastructure in Las Vegas to enable an Open Grid multi-party testbed. Vapor IO will also introduce Google Anthos to the testbed environment and encourage public and private 5G service providers to develop on the platform as part of its activities in Las Vegas.

About Vapor IO
Vapor IO is building the nation's most extensive edge-to-edge networking, colocation, and interconnection platform, capable of handling the most demanding low-latency applications at the edge of wireless and wireline access networks. The Kinetic Grid platform from the business integrates multi-tenant colocation, software-defined interconnection, and high-speed networking. The company's solutions provide the most flexible, highly dispersed edge infrastructure at the wireless network's edge. Vapor IO's Kinetic Edge services have been implemented in Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and Pittsburgh, and it is currently deploying in 36 more cities.
