Transition Networks To Demo Power Fiber Extender For Long Distance Power-over-Ethernet
Transition Networks, Inc., the data network integration technology expert, today announced it will display its prototype Power Fiber Extender solution at the OFC Conference on March 20 – 24 in Anaheim, California.

The new solution leverages a hybrid fiber copper cable, using the SENKO IP-ONE® connector, to deliver Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and fiber optic data connectivity over long distances. Typical PoE solutions provide power and gigabit speeds only up to 100 meters, but the Power Fiber Extender provides full PoE+ (30 Watts) power and gigabit speeds greater than 750 meters. The solution is ideal for long-distance needs where a remote power source is not easily accessible, such as outdoor surveillance cameras, Wi-Fi access points, small cells and digital signage.
