Leading Gigabit 1 (G1) fixed wireless access (ngFWA) platform manufacturer, Tarana Wireless, Inc., with Texas-based internet service provider, VGI Technology, recently announced the development of their active G1 deployments in Horseshoe bay and Marble Falls, Texas.
Tarana, with its ngFWA has created a new broadband technology with over a decade of R&D, this has also created a new category. The new technology incorporates non-line-of-sight (NLoS) performance, and true interference cancellation for both unlicensed and licensed spectrums, which are industry breakthroughs. This development enables internet service providers to offer broadband speeds where is fiber installation is impossible or impractical.
VGI Team had observed speeds of up to 600 Mbps in an urban setting with high level of disturbance with their pilot product in late 2021. This led to VGI team actively offering customers wireless internet capabilities on active G1 networks.
Traditional FWA setups could only offer 5-50 Mbps service plans, but with Tarana’s ngFWA wireless G1 capabilities, customers in Horsehoe Bay and Marble Falls can get up to 400 Mbps via the VGI’s G1 network.
Mike Calabrese, VP of Worldwide Sales at Tarana, said, “VGI’s service areas are a prime example of why the Tarana team set out to flip the script on fixed wireless. The residents of Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay no longer have to sacrifice quality internet to live there. We are very proud to be a part of this achievement and look forward to more success stories with the team at VGI.”
