Sony overhauls network infrastructure with Orange Business Services

Sony has unveiled plans to overhaul network infrastructure at a global level through deploying SD-WAN solutions from Orange Business Services. The new Sony network will connect over 500 locations across more than 50 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam, in addition to Thailand, Hong Kiong, China, South Korea and Japan, among others. Specifically, the technology giant will “consolidate and transform” the communications infrastructure of Sony’s two largest operating companies initially into a “harmonised, future-proof network" in a move designed to enhance user experience at a global level. “Orange innovation, integration capabilities and international network are the catalysts that will allow us for the first time to bring our regional operating companies under one umbrella,” said Makoto Toyoda, CIO of Sony Group.
