Rogers Communications Selects Ribbon's Optical and Software Defined Network Solutions to Help Improve Network Performance

Ribbon Communications, Inc., a global provider of real-time communications software and IP Optical networking solutions to service providers, enterprises, and critical infrastructure sectors, announced today that Rogers Communications, a leading technology, and media company, has chosen Ribbon's industry-leading optical networking solution to upgrade its transport network. As a result, Rogers is one of the first tier-one North American service providers to use DWDM 400G ZR+ technology, which allows for multiple 400 Gigabits per second (400G) connections for greater capacity throughout its national footprint.

Ribbon's Apollo optical networking and MUSE SDN platforms are at the core of the deployment. Rogers can use the MUSE Software Defined Networking (SDN) Domain Orchestrator to design and evaluate their optical network deployment, rapidly automate the creation of new services, and guarantee that the network is optimized, available and operating at top efficiency. The solution is intended to deliver unmatched levels of performance and agility for both metro and long-distance networks.
