Lumen Technologies is Reshaping Enterprise Application Delivery with Microsoft, from the Cloud to the Edge

Lumen Technologies today announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft that will define the next generation of business application delivery by integrating Microsoft Azure capabilities into the Lumen platform. Mutual clients will benefit from the ability to operate their Microsoft-based solutions closer to the point of digital engagement by using Lumen's global Edge Computing services, resulting in one of the quickest and most secure platforms for apps and data.

Lumen will work with Microsoft on numerous upcoming go-to-market initiatives to serve mutual clients across the globe, using the Lumen Edge Experience Center's capabilities, including:

• A certified Azure deployment that will run on Lumen Edge Computing nodes around the world, enabling new low latency and high bandwidth use cases for Azure service platform clients.

• Solutions for the communication sector based on Private 5G networks that would use Microsoft's cloud-native software capabilities and the Lumen fiber network and Edge Computing capabilities. Customers would improve their wireless networks and move workloads closer to digital interactions using these solutions.

• Enterprise sector managed solutions for a wide range of Microsoft software and cloud services to improve business workload performance and support a customer's entire workforce, regardless of location.

Lumen has selected Azure as the primary public cloud venue for workloads that serve its business clients, helping to enhance the user experience for the Lumen platform and changing how new service capabilities are introduced to the platform. As a result, customers in the enterprise will benefit from consistent access management experiences across all Lumen digital services. Lumen will also use Azure, Microsoft Power Apps, and Microsoft 365 E5 Security & Compliance to help with its internal digital transformation.

Furthermore, Microsoft has named Lumen one of its preferred partners, with Lumen networking, infrastructure, and managed services supporting Azure globally. As a result, enterprise clients will benefit from the Lumen platform providing even more high-performance network connections to all of their Azure services.
