On February 13, 2023, Conexon Connect, the internet service provider created by Conexon, a rural fiber-optic network design and construction management company, was selected by Mitchell Electric Membership Corp (EMC) to provide high-speed fiber internet within the cooperative's service territory in Rural Georgia. This collaboration will allow Connect to deploy a fiber-to-the-home network that could eventually cover up to 5,570 miles in southwest Georgia.

The Connect network, backed by Mitchell EMC, will initially provide fiber broadband services to homes and businesses in Mitchell and Worth counties, where the cooperative received funding from the American Rescue Plan Act. The ultimate objective is to expand fiber broadband access to all 15,764 members of Mitchell EMC in Mitchell, Baker, Dougherty, and Worth counties, as well as portions of Lee, Colquitt, Calhoun, Decatur, Early, Thomas, Grady, Miller, and Turner counties.

Randy Klindt, Conexon Founding Partner and Conexon Connect CEO, said, "Working alongside Mitchell EMC to bring high-speed internet to its members is exciting and fulfilling for everyone at Conexon Connect." He added, "It's very clear that Tony and his team are committed to bringing the benefits of high-speed internet to the communities they serve, and we are proud to play a role in their efforts."
