MediaTek today announced the Dimensity 1050 system-on-chip [SoC], its first mmWave 5G chipset that will power the next generation of 5G smartphones with seamless connectivity, displays, gaming and power efficiency. Through dual connectivity using mmWave and sub-6GHz, the Dimensity 1050 will deliver the speeds and capacity required to provide smartphone users with an incredible experience, even in some of the most densely populated areas.
The Dimensity 1050 combines mmWave 5G and sub-6GHz to fluidly migrate between network bands, and is built on the ultra-efficient TSMC 6nm production process with an octa-core CPU. Supporting 3CC carrier aggregation on sub-6 (FR1) spectrum and 4CC carrier aggregation on mmWave (FR2) spectrum, the Dimensity 1050 will be capable of delivering up to 53 percent faster speeds and greater reach to smartphones compared to LTE + mmWave aggregation alone. The SoC integrates two premium Arm Cortex-A78 CPUs with speeds reaching 2.5GHz and the latest Arm Mali-G610 graphics engine.

In addition to 5G optimizations, the Dimensity 1050 offers Wi-Fi optimizations alongside MediaTek's HyperEngine 5.0 gaming technology to ensure lower-latency connections with the new tri-band – 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz – that extends game time and performance. Additionally, high-end UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 memory ensure ultra-fast data streams to accelerate apps, social feeds and faster FPS in games.

The compact, plug-and-play device boosts operational efficiency and service availability. This helps Tele2 Estonia to improve customer experience and offer enhanced SLAs. In addition, TIP OpenWiFi’s open architecture enables Edgecore to work with application service providers to develop services including Smart Indoor Location Solution, network quality of experience (QoE), network security and other services. NetAlly today announced the availability of a containerized version of their Link-Live cloud service, for licensed on-premise server or private cloud installation. Until now, organizations with “no cloud” policies were unable to take full advantage of the many capabilities in Link-Live.
Serving as a centralized site survey, test results, analysis, and tester management system, Link-Live transforms team workflows with the ability to quickly and easily log, document, and report test activity from all NetAlly hand-held network testers and analyzers.
“Link-Live has evolved from a basic repository and reporting engine for test results from our instruments to an in-depth network analysis and management platform, Over time,” Kahkoska adds, “the addition of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth site surveys, network topology mapping, in-depth analysis, and real-time collaboration tools has made Link-Live a key part of our customers’ network management arsenal, but one that could not be used by public cloud-averse organizations.”

Link-Live Private is available as downloadable software with an accompanying annual subscription. Utilizing Docker Compose, it is easily installed on Linux-based servers, and is has no limitation in terms of number of users, test results, or reports for NetAlly’s LinkRunner 10G, AirCheck™ G2, and EtherScope nXG instruments.
Once the instrument is connected to the Link-Live server, test results are automatically uploaded to the dashboard for project management, analysis, collaboration and reporting. Users also have the option of uploading additional files, screenshots, images, profiles, packet captures, location information, and comments.
