Communications infrastructure provider, Bluebird Network, yesterday announced the completion of its 126-fiber-route-mile network build in the state of Illinois. Bluebird Network which operates two data centers and manages more than 11,000 miles of fiber network, this expands the company’s suite of offerings for the Illinois region.
Bluebird’s dedicated, reliable fiber network, cloud connectivity services and data center solutions will now be available to new customers in the Illinois communities of Dixon, DeKalb, Sterling, Rock Falls and Aurora, which are connected to its robust Midwest fiber footprint. This implementation also provides an alternative route to Chicago thereby increasing the resiliency of the company’s already reliable fiber network.
Bluebird’s new route to Chicago offers data center solutions in USA’s third largest region while existing customers can get connected with some of the most important hubs of telecommunications in the world. Since last year, Bluebird will have linked 441 new on-net buildings, added 1,386 more access points, and deployed roughly 290 miles of new owned fiber.
