Two weeks ago, Kyle Watson received his bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College, but unlike countless college graduates, for him, pounding the pavement would be unnecessary. The degree holder in economics, finance and global business had already landed his dream job at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. How did he do it? As a result of good, old-fashioned offline networking. “I was always close with my professors and one in particular, Dr. Hany Guirguis, must have seen something in me,” explains Watson from his home in East Brunswick, NJ, where he’ll be until his job as a rotational analyst for the Markets Group begins in July.
