UfiSpace Announces the Launch of Multi-Function Open Aggregation Routers for Broadband and Mobile Operator Networks

UfiSpace, the leading provider of open disaggregated networking solutions, has announced the availability of their S9600 series open aggregation routers, which are built on Broadcom's Qumran2c silicon. Their open aggregation routers come in three models with various port configurations and capabilities for combining multiple generations of access technologies, traffic types and meeting the stringent timing accuracy requirements of 5G front haul and backhaul.

UfiSpace was one of the first companies in North America to implement disaggregated cell site gateways and the world's first commercially accessible distributed disaggregated chassis routing technology. The S9600-32X, S9600-64X, and S9600-72XC devices will be part of their open aggregation router line. These open aggregation routers will provide service providers a variety of choices to meet a broad range of use cases, including Telecom Infra Project's OpenBNG, which requires the capacity to aggregate up to 128K users.

The S9600 series, which uses the Qumran2c silicon, can offer up to 4.8Tbps of storage and features low power high bandwidth packet memory, which provides 160x more buffering than on-chip memory. In addition, the S9600-72XC also offers the option of an off-board TCAM, which provides even more capabilities for handling diverse applications such as IPv4 & IPv6 Packet Classification, ACL, Policy-based Routing, and QoS.

The S9600 series has GNSS, ToD, 1PPS, and 10MHz interfaces for time synchronization in addition to high-density 25GE and 100GE ports. Furthermore, to further expand its use cases into time-critical situations like fronthaul aggregation, all models support complete SyncE and IEEE 1588v2 profiles and satisfy Class C timing accuracies.

UfiSpace is working with world-renowned software suppliers to provide a complete set of software features for the aggregation network, including Layer2/Layer3 routing protocols, VPN, Segment Routing, MPLS, BNG, and others.

The S9600-32X, S9600-64X, and S9600-72XC are now available for purchase to software vendors and service providers for integration, testing, and proof of concept.
