Mavenir, the Network Software Provider building the future of networks with cloud-native software that runs on any cloud, today announced the launch of its Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS), an integrated Software as a Service (SaaS) offering.

Mavenir’s CPaaS combines Application Programming Interface (API) enablers and turnkey applications to deliver a complete customer engagement and business messaging monetization solution for Communications Service Providers (CSPs).

CPaaS enables digital transformation, helping businesses improve customer engagement and increase efficiency, and represents a growing business opportunity for CSPs.

Mavenir CPaaS allows CSPs to:
  • Increase the monetization of their network assets — by enabling new business use cases and applications. CSPs looking for new revenue streams can directly offer businesses a way to integrate communications capabilities within existing business applications and processes, leveraging their existing network assets to provide reliable traffic termination.
  • Capitalize on business transformation trends like conversational commerce — CSPs can also expand their offering with Mavenir's CPaaS business messaging and customer engagement capabilities, delivering multi-channel mobile-native messaging experiences like RCS on Google Business Messages, Apple Messages for Business, SMS, and MMS.
  • Create rich messaging experiences — Mavenir CPaaS includes turnkey applications like Smart 2FA, Campaign and Chatbot Studios, Visual Flow Builder, SMS Message Exchange for Webex and Microsoft Teams, Number Masking, as well as a set of programmable APIs for voice, video, omnichannel messaging, and WebRTC capabilities.
  • Accelerate innovation and differentiation — using the Mavenir CPaaS APIs and SDKs, CSPs can use their internal innovation teams or work with third-party partners to combine their network capabilities into new, unique, and differentiated service offerings that address specific industry verticals (e.g., healthcare, financial services, travel & hospitality, etc.).

"Consumer mobile messaging continues to accelerate and requires businesses to learn to engage customers on their preferred channels, on a global scale and at any time,"

Jorgen Nilsson, President of Enterprise Connect Solutions at Mavenir

"The combination of immersive features and mobile business communication enablers into an integrated solution empowers CSPs with an even broader set of services to solidify their customer engagement initiatives, while expanding their share of revenue in the business communications value chain."

Mavenir CPaaS is available as a SaaS offering, managed and operated by Mavenir in the public cloud and offered in a pay-as-you-grow model that minimizes upfront investments and risks, accelerating time to market.

City, University of London Modernizes Wireless Campus Infrastructure with Extreme Networks

Extreme Networks | November 21, 2022

Extreme Networks, Inc. a leader in cloud networking, today announced the deployment of a new Wi-Fi 6 wireless network for UK-based City, University of London, providing connectivity to over 18,000 students and 2,000 staff. The new infrastructure includes the ExtremeCloud™ IQ platform, which simplifies network management and provides the IT team with full visibility and advanced analytics around network performance, usage and security. ExtremeCloud IQ also delivers insights that will help the university improve the student experience and drive operational efficiencies. Alongside Charterhouse Group, Extreme Networks delivered a wireless solution that seamlessly integrates with the university’s existing wired infrastructure and offers greater reliability, flexibility, control and security across the campus. Key Benefits Improved Learning Experience for Students: The deployment of a new Wi-Fi 6 wireless network provides seamless connectivity throughout high-density environments across campus. The enhanced network easily handles an ever-increasing load of media-rich content and devices. Students benefit from faster speeds and low latency, allowing them to access educational platforms or stream videos without delay from anywhere on campus. It also future-proofs the university for the emergence of new programs and curriculum that will rely on Wi-Fi connectivity. Simplified, Streamlined Network Management and Visibility of Applications for IT Staff: The powerful combination of ExtremeCloud IQ - Site Engine and ExtremeAnalytics provides the university’s IT team with an easy, effective and automated way to operate and manage all network functions via the cloud. Now, the university can automate the provisioning of new devices, freeing up staff to focus on other tasks and projects, and use hyper-segmentation to drastically increase the university’s security posture by creating stealth networks that separate certain user and device groups to minimize the risk of unauthorized access. Analytics empower the staff to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues, understand usage patterns to optimize application performance, leverage insights around foot traffic and identify operational efficiencies. Executive Perspectives Paulo Leal, Network Architect, City, University of London “The student experience is crucial to us and the technological facilities we provide underpin that. Our goal with Extreme from the get-go was to deploy a network infrastructure that could provide students and staff with seamless connectivity both in the classroom and across the campus. Extreme was able to support us in our ambitions to modernize the student experience. Our new architecture provides us with exactly that and frees up staff to focus on other activities, while allowing students to enjoy a superior education experience.” Tony Brar, Director, Charterhouse Group “There are many complexities when it comes to a university’s network due to the number of campuses and varying user demands. However, as one of Extreme’s key partners, Charterhouse has full access to their portfolio of wired, wireless, management and NAC/Analytics enabling us to deliver exactly what City, University of London needs to provide a world-class educational experience. This is the latest in a long line of transformation projects we have worked on alongside Extreme.” “Today’s students expect seamless and reliable connectivity to be readily available on campus, while modern curriculums require high-bandwidth, low latency networks to successfully activate new applications and programs. Our deployment at City, University of London provides the foundation for advanced, asynchronous learning of the future. Meanwhile, we’re making it easier for IT teams and network admins to manage the network, gain visibility into usage and performance, better understand the preferences of the student population and drive more operational efficiency across their entire campus.” John Morrison, SVP EMEA Sales and Services, Extreme Networks About Extreme Networks Extreme Networks, Inc. Pivotal Commware’s New WaveScape Features Accelerate Network Design Process

Pivotal Commware | January 20, 2023

A global provider of 5G mmWave infrastructure products for the wireless edge, Pivotal Commware introduces two new modules to WaveScape ®, its innovative network modeling tool: Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) FWA optimization and 3D visualization. These features all together enable high-density urban environments and lets carriers accelerate the network design at minimum cost. WaveScape, created in-house since legacy tools cannot model at a high-enough resolution, and do not consider many of the essential differences between fixed wireless access (FWA) networks, and mobility networks, particularly for MDUs. WaveScape is enhanced by MDU Optimizer™, using AI to completely automate the placement of Pivot 5G network repeaters serving MDUs, used by a third of American households. 3D visualization is used by the optimizer to qualify FWA service for MDUs where one part of the structure will likely be covered, and others won’t be. . Mobile network operators (MNOs) can sell FWA to the right customers by identifying these differences and determine where equipment needs to go to achieve higher coverage levels, and which units have coverage, and which do not. While making coverage qualification determinations, legacy tools typically only consider the signal strength to the building, and do not take into consideration all the factors that are important to the actual performance of FWA networks, such as the angle of incidence of the signal onto the building, the building materials, glass, and window type, or whether the windows are recessed from the face of the building. About Pivotal Commware Founded in 2016, Pivotal Commware is a developer of systems, applications and communication platforms centered on Holographic Beam Forming®. The technology allows network operators to improve network speed, spectral efficiency and capacity by using the lowest cost, size, weight, and available power consumption (C-SWaP) envelope. The company’s unique mmWave product ecosystem comprises 5G indoor Echo subscribers, 5G outdoor network repeaters, cloud based WaveScape™ network planning software and IBMS. The company is headquartered in Kirkland (Washington).
