The company's ExtremeCloudTM portfolio has been expanded to incorporate new SD-WAN and AIOps with digital twin capabilities, allowing clients to offer secure connection at the network's edge, accelerate cloud deployments, and unearth actionable data – all from a single platform.

Mavenir’s Converged Packet Core to power Deutsche Telekom’s 5G standalone (SA) network in Germany

Deutsche Telekom and Mavenir announced the successful delivery and deployment of cloud-native 5G Core to Deutsche Telekom in Germany. Deutsche Telekom selected Mavenir as the supplier for software applications to run on its defined hardware and the existing Kubernetes-based platform of its German business, ensuring an open architecture approach. As part of the deployment process, the Converged Packet Core was integrated with Telekom’s existing multi-vendor access network and other system components. The new Converged Packet Core supports data, voice, and messaging services and network slicing. The initial network slicing use case is focused on live video broadcasting. The deployment has been successfully certified against devices from the major terminal vendors. The Mavenir solution is based on automated software delivery and network upgrades. This will allow new Converged Packet Core services with all the required network functions to be deployed in minutes by using the automation framework of Deutsche Telekom. It is largely self-updating for the entire lifecycle of each application. The platform can automatically synchronize production environment resources and configuration with changes expressed in code. It is therefore less prone to the human errors that come with manual testing and deployment. Arrcus enables SoftBank Corp. to demonstrate automated 5G Network Slicing by using SRv6 MUP with SRv6 Flex-Algo

(“SoftBank”) to successfully demonstrate automated network slicing over 5G mobile networks and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) applications, running with ArcOS – a key component of Arrcus’ ACE networking software stack. In this demonstration, SRv6 MUP with SRv6 Flex-Algo from Arrcus provided advanced traffic engineering capability to extend a 5G network slice to MEC applications with seamless automation, without the need for additional 5G equipment. SoftBank also verified SRv6 MUP interoperability with 5G equipment in its laboratory. The yearlong trial will now proceed to the next step, preparing SRv6 MUP technology for commercial deployment. SoftBank’s pioneering introduction of SRv6 MUP to standards-based 5G will allow mobile traffic to be forwarded flexibly across the transport network and into the cloud – bridging the gap between mobile and native technologies and helping to establish a simplified, cost-effective solution to high-speed connectivity between the mobile networks and applications.
