Ethernity Networks Introduces the ENET Wireless Backhaul Solution that Includes Integrated Wireless Bonding

Ethernity Networks, a leading provider of data processing offload solutions on programmable hardware for accelerating telco/cloud networks, announced today the launch of the ENET Wireless Backhaul solution, which is designed for dedicated FPGA-based appliances. The solution combines a networking capacity of up to 60Gbps with newly patented bonding technology to optimize 4G and 5G network deployments.
The ENET Wireless Backhaul solution runs on an FPGA appliance and is powered by Ethernity's ENET Flow Processor FPGA firmware and Ethernity's newly patented bonding technology. Wireless traffic is distributed uniformly across several 1GbE and 10GbE ports using integrated bonding technologies.
It will enable packet fragmentation, reassembly, and reordering for differential delay compensation as a way to connect wireless radio equipment. By continuously distributing data through various wireless links with varying speeds and technologies, the approach also enhances overall wireless efficiency and increases transmitted throughput. This allows operators to solve interruptions or slow wireless transmission caused by inclement weather while still increasing overall transmission distance.
ENET Wireless Backhaul is suitable for use in a 4G/5G Indoor or Outdoor Unit, as it includes full Carrier Ethernet Switch/Router capability as well as embedded bonding features.
The ENET Wireless Backhaul solution is currently available on Ethernity's standalone UEP-20 (Universal Edge Platform) with 10Gbps traffic spread through 10GbE and various 1GbE ports, as well as commercial off-the-shelf servers that use Ethernity's ACE-NIC FPGA SmartNICs. The solution will also be able to bond 40Gbps traffic on the new UEP-60 platform, which is set to be released in Q3/2021.
