With the increasing sprawl of VMs and containers, growing numbers of data centers are adopting server-based networking. But the low forwarding rate of the software-based data plane makes it difficult to implement many network functions virtualization (NFV) applications with a reasonable amount of server resources. An upcoming DemoFriday will look at how intelligent server adapters can reduce the number of servers needed and achieve up to 5X lower TCO for NFV and SDN applications.
