On February 1, 2023, Cradlepoint, the leading company in cloud-delivered LTE and 5G wireless network solutions, announced the R2100 Series 5G Ruggedised Router, which expands the company's growing 5G Wireless WAN portfolio. The sleek exterior-mounted solution, designed for vehicle and IoT networks, provides a uniquely flexible and simplified form factor to public safety, mass transit, and other organizations, that need a high-bandwidth IoT or mobile router with modern cellular performance.

In-vehicle applications have rapidly advanced, creating more use cases and diverse deployment requirements. The R2100 integrates the modem, antennas, and router into an aerodynamic, IP67-rated casing that shields from weather, shocks, and vibration for mounting on vehicle rooftops or IoT cabinet enclosures. In addition, the R2100 is available with or without Wi-Fi 6 and can be used as a standalone router or with a 5G adapter.

Advantages include:

  • Streamlined router installation since antenna cables are not required reduces installation complexity and cost.
  • Easy Wi-Fi addition as the R2100 Series will act as an additional Wi-Fi source in captive mode to expand coverage, similar to Cradlepoint's unique Captive Modem capability.
  • A seamless 5G extension for an existing installation using the R2100 in Captive Modem mode as an adapter managed by a Cradlepoint router.
  • 3rd party 5G add-on using R2100 with third-party, in-vehicle routers through the WAN port.
  • Accessible edge computing via integrated containers since the R2100 was created to support local containers with edge computing functionality.

Cradlepoint NetCloud powers the R2100 Series 5G Ruggedised Router, providing unified edge security solutions for IoT and in-vehicle networks. NetCloud provides vital public organizations with solutions such as end-to-end encryption, cutting-edge threat detection, and defense functionality to allow secure internet and direct cloud access for applications and IoT devices, with or without Wi-Fi. The R2100 also supports the NetCloud Exchange services, providing customers with 5G Optimised SD-WAN and Zero Trust Network Access.

Baicells Announces Nova452 Outdoor eNodeB for Enhanced Connectivity

Baicells | March 03, 2023

On March 02, 2023, Baicells Technologies, a global LTE and 5G network solutions provider, announced the availability of its Nova452 outdoor eNodeB for operators and enterprises. The system's ability to be upgraded to 5G makes it a cost-effective means of bringing advanced connectivity to the unconnected. The 3GPP-compliant Nova452 can operate across multiple LTE bands and provides up to 4 x 40 W of power, offering the system extended reach and reducing the number of network densification points required while providing a blanket of dependable service coverage. The Nova452 is uniquely positioned to provide the advantages of Carrier Aggregation (CA) or Dual-Carrier (DC) mode, enhancing network capacity and performance. Nova452 supports 2CC (2 Component Carriers) in CA mode, which essentially doubles the throughput compared to a single carrier mode by combining two different spectrum resources into one virtual contiguous spectrum resource. In DC mode, each carrier is treated as a separate cell, supporting 512+512 users, and each cell supports 5, 10, 15, 20, or 100 MHz (5G NR) channels. Through this solution, operators can fully benefit from the 100MHz channel bandwidth and the resulting performance to provide 5G services without an expensive or disruptive upgrade procedure. In addition, Baicells HaloB mobile core is accessible as an integrated function on the Nova452, thereby reducing the number of physical network elements and the complexity of the network as a whole. The operational simplicity provides the operator with a quicker time to service and revenue. The Nova452 is an obvious choice for both brownfield and greenfield deployments. The Nova452 has been certified, and initial trial deployments with multiple US customers are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023. About Baicells Baicells is a global technology company that offers cost-effective turnkey 4G and 5G Network Solutions to enterprises, service providers, and communities. With over 600 commercial deployments in 60+ countries and over 500 patents, it is at the forefront of technology innovation. To keep up with the demand for connectivity, the company is expanding its manufacturing capacity with partnerships with global manufacturers in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. The company is committed to bridging the digital divide and connecting the unconnected with its cutting-edge solutions.
