Cloudflare Reinvents the Corporate Network to Accelerate, Simplify, and Secure Any Business's Connection to the Internet
Cloudflare | March 23, 2021
Cloudflare Inc., a security, speed, and stability organization that is helping to create a safer Internet, today announced the launch of Magic WAN with Magic Firewall as well as new strategic alliances with major networking and data center providers as part of Cloudflare One, the cloud-based network-as-a-service solution. Magic WAN with Magic Firewall provides customers of all sizes with a one-stop-shop for connecting and securing files, computers, workplaces, cloud networks, and more, all without the use of hardware boxes. Magic WAN is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that links any traffic source to Cloudflare's global network for safe, fast communication, and Magic Firewall interfaces with it to implement security rules across all traffic.
"Companies burn significant resources provisioning and maintaining legacy connectivity technologies like MPLS," said Matthew Prince, co-founder, and CEO of Cloudflare. "With Magic WAN, we’re leveraging Cloudflare’s global network to offer reliable, faster, much more cost-effective connectivity with security built-in. And by partnering with the leading SD-WAN vendors, we can ensure Magic WAN can be a drop-in replacement for legacy connectivity solutions. The modern enterprise network deserves a modern take on networking, and Magic WAN is just that."
Many companies continue to rely on outdated security and connectivity solutions designed for in-office corporate networks. Employees are frustrated with the slow speeds of VPNs, and security departments are burdened with managing a costly patchwork of solutions as the workforce becomes more dispersed. Furthermore, this legacy solution was not intended to help companies that rely on the Internet for sensitive workplace applications, which are common attack vectors used by hackers. Cloudflare One protects and accelerates the efficiency of computers, software, and whole networks to keep workforces safe and connected as more companies rely on the Internet to conduct business.
According to Ghassan Abdo, VP of WW Telecom, Virtualization & CDN at IDC Research, “Increased cloud adoption coupled with the recent pivot to remote workers has increased the volume of Internet, SaaS, and IaaS traffic, straining traditional network architectures, such as MPLS. WAN architectures that offer a global scale, integrated enterprise network security functions and direct, secure connectivity to remote users are key to organizations looking to increase their operational agility and lower total costs of ownership.”
Magic WAN, which is now available as part of the Cloudflare One suite, safely links every traffic source — data centers, workplaces, computers, and cloud properties — to Cloudflare's global network and allows customers to customize public and private routing policies to get traffic where it needs to go, all within a single SaaS solution. Magic Firewall enables companies to identify network security laws from a centralized dashboard, assisting in the protection of staff, workplaces, and data anywhere they are.
