According to a recent IHS Markit survey and report of 28 service providers – and with excerpts provided by Ciena – Nokia and Huawei were cited as being part of network deployments by 39 percent of respondents, each. Ciena posted mixed second fiscal quarter 2018 results that beat revenue predictions but missed on profits. The optical networking and software vendor also announced plans to acquire Packet Design in a move to boost its Blue Planet software platform.
