Technical difficulties with audio & video. Network analytics has been a key component of network management for decades. As we look to integrate more intelligence, whether for increased security or to better handle the emergence of new applications like IoT, we need more information from the network and better tools to process the information. Traditionally, network monitoring and analytics systems rely on aggregation (e.g., flow records) or sampling to cope with high packet rates.

5G Standalone: What's So Exciting About It?

Article | May 20, 2021

The much-anticipated 5G Standalone has arrived. T-Mobile is the first to launch it in the USA, covering 250 million people across 7,500 cities and towns, including rural areas. China Mobile is the only other service provider to launch it in Hong Kong. Overall, 58 operators are currently investing (November 2020) in 5G SA, including those who have launched. 5G SA makes a break from 5G non-standalone by integrating the evolved packet core or the signaling brain of the 5G network, which controls the network's devices. It prepares the groundwork for new services unique to this generation of networks, such as network slicing to customize enterprise services across multiple networks.

AT&T expands its 5G network to 22 new cities and introduces mmWave 5G+ in some markets

Article | March 5, 2020

5G on mmWave frequencies is the fastest offering, but it has pretty severe range limitations. This is the same 5G technology that Verizon is using, and it requires customers to be in very specific locations to connect to it. But when you can get it, AT&T promises speeds up to 2Gbps. Only the Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra support mmWave on AT&T and not the carrier’s variant of the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G. The company’s mmWave network, which they are calling “5G+,” is available in 35 cities. Last month, AT&T expanded its coverage of sub-6GHz 5G to more cities. This week, they are adding 22 more markets to the list, bringing the total number up to 80. Those markets include:

HOW 5G WILL DRIVE CLOUD COMPUTING TO THE NEXT LEVEL?

Article | February 13, 2020

The world is now leading towards fifth-generation (5G) network connection, which is set to revolutionize the network and communications industry by providing ultra-fast transmission rates. This can be as much as 100 times faster than the existing 4G or previous networks. Undeniably, today we are generating a massive amount of data and to process effectively, there is a need to leverage a big data set that can make these data actionable. This is where Cloud Computing comes in, delivering a large data storage option to businesses. However, this large storage service needs faster connectivity as the amount of data is continuously growing.
