Nokia expands WING with 5G IoT capabilities

In a recent release, Nokia announced that it is evolving its Worldwide IoT Network Grid (WING) managed service to add 5G and edge capabilities. This upgrade reportedly facilitates operators in offering 5G IoT services without having to invest in global infrastructure. WING is designed to help operators capture early IoT market share without having to make investments in infrastructure because of a pay-as-you-go business model designed to allow the scaling of 5G IoT services faster and more cost-effectively. With Nokia WING, operators will be able to leverage new business models and tap into industries such as connected cars, critical public services, and real-time industrial monitoring and control, as well as remote healthcare, the company said.
